GREETINGS from the ARC
SAILING ACROSS THE ATLANTIC OCEAN

ARC; Atlantic Rally for Cruisers.  Teresa and Sebastian joined us for this annual sailing migration involving 240 other yachts.  We arrived in the Caribbean 18 days later, having sailed 2,700 nautical miles across the Atlantic Ocean!  What an Adventure!

November 25, 2007 –  Lee Adamson, Wendy Fredell, Sebastian Arby, and Teresa Bright pose for one last photo in Las Palmas Gran Canaria before leaving for the ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers) Crossing. Sebastian, a 20 year Swedish Naval officer, hails from the west coast of Sweden, and Teresa Bright, owner of Blue Heron Mortgage, hails from Fairview, Oregon.

The seas were choppy and the winds high for the first two days of the passage, then the weather calmed and we focused on boat projects, catching fish, dreaming up interesting meals, and playing Swedish Naval officer’s games. We also managed to fit in much needed rest and relaxation during our 18 day journey.  The week before we left Las Palmas, each moment was jam-packed with seminars, crossing preparation, and ARC dinners & cocktail parties. Teresa became our communications person during the passage and she sent regular position reports and blog entries to the ARC main office in England
. We all worked well together as a cohesive team and this made our whole ARC experience a great success!
