GREETINGS from
the EASTERN CARIBBEAN's WINDWARD ISLANDS

Wendy's son Alex and his girlfriend Maria, standing before a remote waterfall on Grenada.

We've just spent two delightful, very adventurous weeks with Wendy’s son, Alex, and his girlfriend, Maria Nastasia.  Alex is finishing his last year at Trinity College in Connecticut, while Maria is finishing hers at the University of Connecticut.  Everyone agreed that this has been a wonderful family bonding experience.

January 8-23, 2008 – We sailed between tropical islands, met the locals, drank rum, climbed a spectacular volcano, swam in the picturesque Tobago Cays and dove amongst the Turtles. We then decided to go even further, sailing to Prickly Bay, Grenada, even though this gave us a 24-hour overnight sail back to the airport in St. Lucia.  It was wonderful.

In Grenada we rented a car and drove to the interior where we hiked to several waterfalls.  We even discovered a unique “Underwater Sculpture Garden” on Grenada’s west coast, where you swam around mysterious metal sculptures of local people, attached to rocks in twenty feet of water.

Good luck to Alex and Maria in their last semester!  As you can see from the trip Photo Album, we had a wonderful time!
