October 2007 – Flying from Oregon, Priscilla Bernard, Anne Mansfield, Marilee and Michael Cowan, arrive in Palma de Mallorca. Each one brought an interest that they shared with the group: Priscilla described bee keeping, Anne led us in painting a mandala, and Marilee & Michael talked about their experience of studying and recording Swedish folk music in Sweden last summer.
From Palma, we sailed along the remote and rocky northwestern coast of Mallorca, past unusual cliffs and rock formations to which Anne, a Feng Shui expert, ascribed fascinating hidden meanings. We made an overnight sail to Menorca, found beautiful deserted anchorages, took a bus to the main port, and hiked through a beautiful bird sanctuary. From there we headed down the east coast of Mallorca to the small islands SE, which have been designated a marine sanctuary. From there we sailed back to Palma, where we regretfully said goodbye to our wonderful friends at the airport.
