GREETINGS from Willie Gibson
Visiting Worldwide Traveler in Isla Mujeres, Yucatan, Mexico

Willie Gibson, a professional photographer and longtime friend of Lee's, joined us for a visit after a shoot in Cancun.  How wonderful to catch up with an old friend!

February, 2009 - Old friends Lee and Willie Gibson (from Denver) reconnected with each other after a 20 year hiatus. Willie, a professional photographer, joined us in Isla Mujeres after a commercial shoot in Cancun. There was a lot of catching up to do in between tours of the "real" Isla Mujeres, an island where Willie ran a business for many years.

As the three of us sped about on a golf cart in Isla, people on the street would stop us and say, "Willie! You're back! We've missed you." It quickly became apparent that we were with a local celebrity and we enjoyed the banter between Willie and the locals. With our friend we visited Isla's most interesting restaurants, drank freshly squeezed orange juice at Willie's favorite fruit and vegetable market, ate the best chile relleno in Isla, and enjoyed the pleasures of drinking Don Julio Tequila. We were introduced to local entrepreneurs and saw aspects of Isla that few tourists ever see. It was hard to say goodbye to Willie! We look forward to a return visit in the near future.
