THE TWO OF US SAILING THE MEDITERRANEAN
FROM SPAIN TO TURKEY

Mediterranean Sea:  June - November, 2006 - We really enjoyed sailing, just the two of us, across various stretches of the Mediterranean between our rendezous ports.  Here are a few selected photos from this part of our trip.

  • Gibraltar to Mallorca - In strong Levantar winds which threw short, powerful waves toward our bows, we tacked up Spain's Mediterranean coast to Mallorca.
  • Mallorca through the Messina Straits to Croatia - Wendy and I doublehanded this beautiful weeklong passage.
  • Croatia - We explored the remote Kornati islands and ancient coastal cities.  One highlight was sailing up a spectacular freshwater fjord to the ancient Roman village of Skradin.
  • Greece - We sailed past Corfu, through the Corinth Canal to Poros, where we met Wendy's siblings.
  • Turkey - Then we met the Hoyts in Rhodes and cruised Turkey's Lycian coast.
